About the video
With their usual antics and boundless energy,
these Steller Sea Lions have once again
performed beyond all expectations. During the
first few weeks of April, there is an
“Extravaganza” or “Alaskan Serengeti” that takes
place in Glacier Bay National
Park. There are literally hundreds of Steller
Sea Lions, countless migratory and resident
birds as well as the first arriving Humpback
Whale that take part in this incredible event.
While millions of sand lance, needlefish and
capelin are hatched, and school, into this
inlet entrance, a feeding frenzy takes place.
During our visit and experience of this “Alaskan
Serengeti” the Steller Sea Lions turned to table
on the Mad Dog Voyager crew as we became the
highlight of the day and center of their
attention. Watch the video to see the crazy
antics and hilarious actions of these curious
and fun loving creatures.
