Mad Dog Voyager is a
CR 400DS, pilothouse sailboat manufactured by CR Yachts of Sweden
and ready for blue water sailing.
Mad Dog Voyager is powered by a 56 HP
Yanmar diesel. With a sail area of over 740 sq. ft., she
cruises at a comfortable 7 knots. We chose the CR 400DS sailboat as she runs
very smooth with a two-person crew but is well suited to solo operation if
needed. Our vessel is very spacious inside
with a
nice layout and out and allows
steering from the aft cockpit or inside from the
inside
steering/navigation station or anywhere on the boat by our wireless
Raymarine remote control!
Many inexperienced people who have not cruised the world ask “But isn’t a
40 footer too small to cruise around the world?” No, it’s not! With all the control lines run aft to
the cockpit and a Furling mast, this boat can be sailed comfortably by two
people and is still relatively easy to handle alone. The bigger the boat,
the more people you need to run the boat. Additionally, when traveling
globally, many locations, marinas and harbors' are easily maneuvered with a
6 ft draft and 40’ slips are readily available. With a longer vessel comes a
deeper keel and an increasing limit on where & when you can go.

 Whether cruising on a 40’ or 90’ boat, you will never be able to carry
everything you thought you needed while living on land, nor will you ever
need to use 80% of this stuff!
When we purchased this CR Yacht 400 DS, there were many boats to chose from,
several of those including larger boats that cost less and smaller boats
that cost more. She is a solidly constructed, very well appointed, luxury
cruiser that can travel everywhere we want, allow for relaxing water
traverses and allow us to relax and enjoy nature as we silently sail past
it. |
